Guest Access

Guests are provided with access to the back patio which has a hot tub and table and chairs. You will also ge a key to a private outside door to your room.

The Neighborhood

The Faubourg Marigny can be overlooked by those who think of New Orleans only as “The French Quarter”. With an identiy all it’s own, the Marigny has a charm just as strong with independent cafe’s, restaurants, artists studios, and live music. You’ll feel like a local in no time.

Getting Around

You most likely won’t want or need a car. My house less than is a ten minute walk to the French Quarter,  Frenchman Street, and most of the major attractions. There is public transportation a block away, and a bike rental shop 3 blocks away. Weekly street parking is almost always available on my block except during the most popular holidays; I rarely have to park more than a block from the house.

House Rules

We are surrounded by neighbors, so I ask that if you are on the patio or hot tub, that you’re quiet after 10pm. I love pets, but I keep some of the rooms pet free for the sake of allergies. Please ask first if you would like to bring your pet. My policy fluctuates depending on how many guests we have and if you can promise that it won’t make noise or tear apart the room!

Interaction with Guests

I live in the back of the house and am often home editing photographs in my office. I leave it up to guests how much interaction they would like to have, but am happy to assist with all aspects of planning their trip.

Other Things to Note

The house is on Elysian Fields Avenue in the Faubourg Marigny, just blocks from the Mississippi river and Frenchman Street. The house is not without quirks (like a few cracks in the plaster walls and doors that sometimes require a little more effort to pull shut!), but like all acts of love, I am constantly working on making my home as good as it can be.

Hi! I’m Joshua, owner of the Blue60 Guest House and my manager is Will Bennet. We are excited to welcome you to our city!

Located in the heart of the beautiful Marigny district in New Orleans, the house was built in 1842. The Blue60 Guest House provides an authentic New Orleans experience, you’ll feel like a local from the moment you walk in. Our back patio is a peaceful respite after a long day exploring, yet we are just a few blocks from the action of Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. Our neighbrohood boasts an array of antique stores, historic homes ranging from the early to mid-1800s, corner cafes with outdoor tables, and authentic southern art shops. You won’t have to go far to make the most of your visit with us. The Blue60 is your ideal accommodation for both intimate getaways and large gatherings, and can sleep up to 18 people if all 5 guest rooms are rented.

So why “Blue60”?

The term “Blue60” refers to the 60 minutes after the sun has set and before the sky turns dark. As a photographer, I named the Guest House “Blue60” to express my love of taking photographs during this magical time of day in a city where the action often begins after the sun has set.

We Look forward to welcoming you to New Orleans!
